This beautiful golden unicorn is made out of red-velvet cake and filled with chocolate chip cookie dough!
This was another birthday cake. The horn, ears, hair and flowers that decorate the unicorn are all made from white fondant. Everything gold was hand painted. A good dusting of gold lustre-dust let the unicorn's fondant mane shine.
The cake interior consists of 4 layers of 8" (inch) red-velvet cake, filled and dirty iced with chocolate chip cookie dough and everything's covered with white (vegan) fondant.
This 3D cake is made to look like a woven wicker basket and contains delicious golden chocolate eggs. Perfect for Easter!
This year's Easter Cake is an Easter Egg! Inspired by the Lilies of the Valley Fabergé Egg it even has a little surprise inside.
The cake itself is chocolate sponge filled with semi-sweet chocolate ganache.
All the decorations are made from fondant and even the grass is edible!
Hey, I'm back with this super nerdy Birthday Cake I did for my best friend!
It's supposed to be an Animal Cell Model on a wooden base.
The Cake is chocolate sponge filled with ganache. I used two different sponge recipes for the top and bottom part respectively, just because I could.
Disclaimer: I am not that well-versed in Biology, I do not claim any of this to be anatomically correct.
This was a gift and is supposed to resemble a Fairy-Tale Book!
(Sadly I couldn’t find brown fondant and since I currently don’t have access to my airbrush I somehow just ended up hand-painting the fondant brown.)
Also I used golden luster-dust for the letters, which is a lot more sparkly in real life! The cake itself is red velvet with chocolate-chip cookie-dough filling.
The England Edition Series refers to Cake Projects I made while in England without my usual Cake supplies.
So this is a very belated Valentine's Day post!
For Valentine's this year I made some chocolate sponge and used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out little hearts. I then filled two hearts with whipped cream, added some melted milk chocolate on top as well as some more whipped cream and finished it off with some red candy melts.
So this was a Birthday Cake for my best friend who requested a Doctor Who and Hobbit themed cake.
I airbrushed the back of the cake galaxy style and made the rest of the decorations out of fondant.
The cake itself is red velvet with cookie dough for the top one and chocolate sponge with black forest filling(whipped cream/ganache/cherries) for the bottom one.
Yesterday I was invited to my uncle's birthday party. He's really interested in cars and turned 53 so my father suggested a beetle with the start number 53 as a birthday cake.
I carved the car out of two vertical halves of a 12" chocolate sponge cake, which I had 'glued' together with dark chocolate ganache.
I made all the details out of fondant.
Yesterday I was invited to a Going-Away party by two very dear friends of mine and as always I promised them to make a cake to honour the occasion.
I was not bound to follow any specific instructions or wishes so I came up with my own design. I thought, since they're going to be travelling a lot, a suitcase would be the way to go. I also added a 'Traveling Notebook' where all the guests could write their name on with edible food markers.
The cake itself was 12" x 9" inches of Red Velvet cake with chocolate-chip Cookie Dough filling.
So it's been a while, but I finally found the opportunity to bake another cake! Yesterday was my cousins’ birthday and since the last cake was very hush-hush I planned this one thoroughly.
I actually wanted to do this design for a while and I was given full artistic freedom on what the cake should look like or be.
The cake is made to look like a bed, I made the head & footboard a week prior to let the gum paste dry and luckily that made the curlicue on the headboard stick and not fall off. I hand painted all the blue and gold but used an airbrush for the cake board. I also used a texture-rolling pin for the 'blanked'.
The cake itself is red velvet with cookie dough filling.
I was asked to make a certain kind of soft drink can cake for an 18th Birthday. The can was supposed to lie on its side and the calories label should be a nod to the birthday girl’s age.
The cake itself is four layers of 6" chocolate sponge filled with chocolate chip cookie dough.
The whole structure was a bit unstable at first but it seemed to work in the end.
So on Saturday I was invited to a 18th Birthday Party and, as always, I made a cake!
The Birthday Girl is an aspiring writer and has a passion for fancy notebooks to write in, so I tried to capture these intrest in the design of this cake.
The cake itself is red velvet with cookie dough filling covered in dark modelling chocolate and fondant.
I was asked to make a two tiered Birthday Cake with a Poker theme. The idea was to have big 3D-Poker Chip Cakes on a square cake base and some cards and chips strewn around.
The cake is chocolate sponge filled with cookie dough (top tiers) and white chocolate ganache (bottom tier). The cards are rice paper and the rest is made out of fondant and hand painted.
After waiting for quite a while I finally found someone, who wanted a Doll Dress Cake as much as I wanted to make one!
This design is heavily based on the requested character from the movie 'Princess and the Pauper' Erika. I had to pin her hair up and wrap it to avoid getting frosting in it.
The cake itself is a half sphere on top of two to three layers of a 6'' chocolate sponge filled and frosted with cookie dough and covered in fondant.
I actually baked another 6'' layer, but after filling the cake I did not need it. The sphere made the dress look way more bulky than it should, but I just wasn't ready to try and carve a dress myself out of a few layers of cake...
Since today was the last day of school before Christmas we did another Secret Santa thing in my history class.
I actually used the present I got from the last Secret Santa to make this Snowman.
I spend the whole day baking red velvet cupcakes, making caramel and white chocolate ganache, because I needed presents for a few friends I won't see in the holidays (read more), so I just used some of the batter for the snowman and painted him with some luster dust after covering him with fondant...
I even made these boxes in which five red velvet cupcakes with white chocolate ganache and four red velvet cupcakes with caramel filling were placed...
Last Friday I was invited to a 18th Birthday party and, as always, my gift was a cake. The birthday girl asked me if it would be possible to either add some of her favourite movie-characters or make the cake Christmas-y with red and green colours.
As you can see I tried to combine both, even though the red was more a pink...
The cake itself is red velvet cake with cookie dough filling.
I recently bought a baking pan for small Spheres and since it is December I thought a Snow Globe would fit the season...
The cake is Chocolate Cake filled with white chocolate and dark chocolate ganache...
I used the airbrush to apply the blue frost...
The Silver Spray really enhanced this look!
I was asked to make an 18th birthday cake for today and they wanted, if possible, a shoe on top and something red in colour.
I made the shoe on Wednesday even though these things should be done weeks in advance, but the commission was on rather short notice. I though the price tag with the 18th on it would be cute and if you look closely you can see an M embossed in the shoes sole.
The cake is chocolate cake filled with cookie dough frosting and covered in white fondant.
We all decided to do Secret Santa this year in my English Class, but I had no idea what to get the person whose name I had drawn, so I fell back on the one thing I can do - trying to bake something...
This present is vanilla cake covered in fondant and painted with all kinds of luster dust. The presents in the front are also made out of fondant...
The cake is about 4", I had to bake a 6" one and then cut out a circle in the middle...
I was invited to an 18th birthday party yesterday by two very dear friends and as a gift I was allowed to bake them a cake. They wished for a book theme and said their favourite colours were blue and green so I took it from there.
The cake itself is marble cake with white chocolate ganache filling.
I actually used my new Airbrush to colour the books which was equally as scary as exciting, but it all worked out somehow....
I am very passionate about some things and the relationship between two fictional characters is one such thing...
The cake itself is pound cake with couverture and some fondant on top.
The decorations are made out of modelling chocolate and fondant.
My cousin turned 16 on Monday and I was told that he wanted a laptop, so I decided to try and make his wish come
I have to admit that the design wasn't 100% thought through, but in my defence I only gave myself one day before the event to decide to make a cake in the first place and come up with a decent design idea.
The cake is a 10'' square chocolate cake which I cut to be more a rectangle than a perfect square and filled with chocolate ganache.
A friend of mine is a big fan of fairy-tales and adventure stories and movies, so I made her a dragonhead resting on top of a lot of treasure...
The head is made out of white modelling chocolate and painted with some powdered food colours.
